Progetto “Sulle tracce dei ghiacciai”

“On the trails of the glaciers” is an original project, ideated in 2006 by the photographer Fabiano Ventura and organized by his no profit association Macromicro. The project, in collaboration with an international scientific Committee, studies the effects of the climate changes combining photographic comparisons and on field scientific research.

The project gets together a team of scientists, photographers and alpinists; it tracks, through different expeditions, the most significant mountain chains of the Earth, which were had been already documented by hystorical expeditions at the end of the ’800 and beginning of the ‘900. Every expedition indeed will provide a photographic comparison between hystorical images and modern ones shot from the same positions, and on field data collection and subsequent elaboration.
